Ohne Titel
Ohne Titel is reminding me of scuba divers this season, and as I have been since the beginning, I'm impressed. The colour palette was simple, consisting entirely of black, white, royal, and navy. Many looks included the black matte scuba suits (for want of a better word) under varying states of dress. It was a cool collection, you had the sense that the Ohne Titel girl goes surfing every morning and wears the wet suit the rest of the day, whether she's hanging on the beach or heading back to the office. Very cool, very summer. And no typo, Miss McNeil actually opened a show. High fives all around, ladies, well done.

Alexander Wang
Oh Alexander Wang, how I adore you. In case nobody noticed, the coolest of the cool in NYC left out the black and went all white for spring. I'll give you all a moment to settle yourselves after that unexpected announcement...
So no, there was not a single black piece in the collection; in fact, there was little aside from the white, which filtered into everything from the clothes to the shoes, even the hair was painted. I saw a few similarities to the Rag & Bone show in the sort of industrial look that was going on (R&B's harnesses vs Wang's overall straps), however, the girls at Alexander Wang were looking more like construction workers or house painters than parachuters. The copper and silver were also cleverly used in panels on the sides of pants and in other details. Excellent job from the man of the hour.
